Foodbank Friday – donations from our suppliers

With the current cost of living crisis disproportionately affecting the most vulnerable, the contributions we provide during Foodbank Friday are becoming increasingly crucial.

Recognising the escalating challenges, we sought to extend our support further and reached out to our fantastic suppliers, asking them to contribute additional donations alongside those from our generous customers.

Their response was incredible!

The Cheeky Panda

The Cheeky Panda have made an incredible donation of a full palette of toilet rolls. That’s 1,800 individual rolls!

Founded in January 2016, The Cheeky Panda arose from a trip to China where the founders discovered that 90% of harvested bamboo was wasted. Driven by a passion for sustainability, they saw an opportunity to create eco-friendly toilet paper and The Cheeky Panda was born.

Who Gives a Crap

Who Gives a Crap have donated an amazing 500 starter boxes, each consisting of three wrapped toilet rolls, one kitchen roll and one tissue box. 

Who Gives a Crap are super soft naked rolls containing no ink, dyes or scents, wrapped in recyclable paper and 100% plastic-free packaging. Kind to your bum as well as the planet. They also donate 50% of profits to help build toilets for people who need them.

Weleda

Weleda have donated 100 bottles of their popular Comfort Body Wash.

Weleda are committed to promoting health and wellbeing and their product line features biodynamic and organic ingredients, free from parabens, and suitable for vegetarians. The brand employs a holistic approach that enhances the body’s natural healing and restores balance to bodily functions.

Bio-D

Bio-D have made a generous donation that includes 120 bottles of bathroom cleaner, 600 soap bars, 60 sanitiser sprays and over 220 dishwasher bars!

Bio-D is a family-owned, independent company driven by ethical values. Their commitment lies in advocating for hypoallergenic, environmentally responsible detergents that minimise the impact on the ecosystem during both usage and manufacturing.

Suma

Suma have generously donated a full palette of their Tomato and Basil Soup.

Established in 1975, Suma is a conscientious wholefoods producer. Their products adhere to stringent criteria, including being GM-free, vegetarian, and locally sourced when feasible to minimise food miles.

Seep

Seep have delivered 192 packs of their eco rubber gloves to the foodbank, providing a much needed donation.

In collaboration with the reforestation charity On a Mission, Seep not only achieves carbon neutrality but surpasses it by offsetting more than their actual carbon footprint. This commitment makes them Climate Positive

NORA

NORA have donated 320 reusable period pads to the foodbank, making a huge difference to people with periods who are unable to afford this essential item.

Motivated by the environmental impact of disposable period products, which take 500 years to decompose in landfills, NORA advocates for change. They offer comfortable, eco-friendly reusable period wear as part of their commitment to a planet-friendly movement.

Good Bubble

Good Bubble have donated a whole range of items, including gift sets, hair and body wash, hand gel and hand wash.

Good Bubble offers a collection of playful and natural bath and hair products for children. Crafted with real fruit extracts and a minimum of 98% natural ingredients, their award-winning products are sulphate, paraben, silicone, PEG, phthalate, and artificial colour-free.

Salt of the Earth

Salt of the Earth have donated a selection of deodorants and hand-washes to the foodbank.

Their deodorants use 100% natural ingredients, providing a real alternative to harsh synthetic chemicals in traditional antiperspirants, making it suitable for sensitive skin.

Soap Folk

Soap Folk have kindly donated a selection of their Lavender Bath Cubes and their Hardworking Hands Soap.

Crafted through traditional cold processing, their soaps undergo personal testing, ensuring quality and performance. They only create soaps they trust, using ingredients they know well. Plus, everything is plastic free and palm oil free.
