Almond milk and health

Is Almond Milk Healthy?

Is Almond Milk Healthy? It’s a question many people have asked and you can get different answers everywhere, so we’re going to try to make sense of it all!

Almonds themselves are very healthy, but the main ingredient in most almond milks is water, so if you want all the almond benefits it’s probably better to just eat them instead. But some almond milk brands seem to be better than others, some contain more things like sweeteners and thickeners which, if you want the full benefit from almond milk, you should try to avoid. In that case unsweetened almond milk is the better option.

But almond milk does still have some health benefits, it still has a good amount of vitamins and antioxidants, it’s also lower in fats and calories than other milks. Almond milk is usually lactose and gluten free so is safe for people who have intolerances to these.

So is almond milk healthy? It can be! It really depends on what each individual brand put in their almond milk so always check the ingredients list or labels. If you’re still not sure about buying almond milk you could always try making your own.
