B Corp – Beauty Kitchen

Certified B Corporations are a new kind of business that balances profit and purpose. The B Corporation Certification requires businesses meet the highest standards of verified, overall social and environmental performance, public transparencies and legal accountability. B Corporations understand that it is not only shareholders that matter, and they have an equal responsibility to the community and the planet.

Certifying as a B Corporation goes beyond product or service-level certification, instead the ‘B Impact Assessment’ evaluates the whole company’s business model and operations and how these impact the workers, community, environment and customers. The impact assessment looks at everything from the supply chain, the input materials, charitable giving and employee benefits, the B Corp Certification proves the business is meeting the highest standards.

Beauty Kitchen

We are delighted to be stocking Beauty Kitchen who became the first beauty brand in the UK to become a fully certified B Corp in 2016. Beauty Kitchen was founded by Jo Chidley who was inspired after her own search for natural products when she found some products were not as ‘natural’ as they claimed. The aim of Beauty Kitchen is to inspire people to buy natural products, not because they should, but because they really work.

Beauty Kitchen donate 2% back to charity partners with every item sold. Beauty Kitchen chose to give away a percentage of sales instead of profits because it means no matter what, they are always giving back

Beauty Kitchen has never contained synthetic ingredients or microplastics and are not tested on animals. Beauty Kitchen products are made only with sustainably-sourced natural ingredients

British Beauty
Beauty Kitchen are developed here ins the UK for two reasons, firstly so the products have to travel less as they are made locally so have a much lower carbon footprint. Secondly to play their part in building a more sustainable ecosystem by creating jobs in local communities.
