Bloom & Nora Reusable Sanitary Pads

We’ve had a few suggestions from our lovely customers about stocking reusable sanitary pads, arguably the most eco-friendly option since they reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. You’ll be happy to know we’ve listened to this feedback and we have found the perfect reusable sanitary towels for you! Let me introduce Bloom & Nora.

From the brilliant, eco-conscious minds that brought you TotsBots reusable nappies, we now have reusable sanitary pads, in two different designs so you can choose the one that’s right for you.

Why reusable sanitary pads?

These re-usable sanitary pads offer an eco-friendly alternative to regular disposables, resulting in much less packaging, plastics and general waste sent to landfill – plus they are super comfy to wear and kind to your skin. The name Bloom & Nora is inspired by Amelia Bloom, an early American Feminist and advocate of the Victorian Dress Reform. Like women of that era, the team at Bloom & Nora want to offer women today the option of everyday comfort during their time of the month.

Reusable sanitary pads

The pads are made with a super absorbent core, waterproof layer and no-leaks binding to keep you dry and prevent any accidents or little leakages. The pads also feature a contoured slim fit and popper fastening, which keeps them comfortable and in place for as long as you’re wearing them

Much like regular disposable sanitary towels, Bloom & Nora pads should be changed every 4-6 hours, except the mighty pads which are designed to last through the night – and they are also suitable for light incontinence too.

The pads should be washed within 48 hours of use with a non-bio powder or laundry liquid, and without any fabric conditioner as this is likely to reduce their absorbent capacity. Straight after use, just rinse the pads in cold water to prevent staining and keep them in your waterproof bathroom bag until it’s time to wash.

Good For You and the Planet

Bloom & NoraThe biggest benefit of washable sanitary towels is that they cause much less waste than disposables. A woman can use up to 15,000 sanitary products during her menstruating years, which equates to a huge amount of waste sent to landfill or ending up on our beaches. Plus, the manufacturing process of regular brands of disposable sanitary pads is resource and chemical intensive, adding a further strain on our beautiful planet.

Bloom & Nora pads are good for you too! They are Oeko-tex certified meaning they are made without harmful chemicals. Regular pads have been found to contain a range of toxins, dioxins and carcinogens, which is quite scary considering these products are worn near the most sensitive parts of your body.

They’re cost effective too! As they are more absorbent, these reusable sanitary pads can save you up to 9p per use when compared to regular brands of disposable pads.

There’s no reason NOT to try these amazing washable sanitary pads, so get yours today!
