VeganEgg is here!
One of the biggest challenges for me becoming vegan is eggs. Now it’s not that I eat them regularly, but I love to bake cakes and biscuits, and sometimes I just really fancy some scrambled eggs on toast. So imagine my joy when I heard about VeganEgg, a dairy-free egg replacer that actually smells and tastes like real egg. It can be used in any recipe for cakes, muffins, cookies, quiches – basically anywhere you use eggs you can use VeganEgg, even in an omelette or scrambled!
I was lucky enough to try a sample of VeganEgg and I really was impressed. I made scrambled ‘eggs’ on toast and it was almost like the real thing. Of course it’s not exactly the same as egg but it’s very close, the texture was pretty much spot on but the taste was a little different. That’s not to say the scrambled VeganEgg tasted bad, it was actually very tasty and I’m sure I’ll be using it instead of eggs from now on!
VeganEgg comes in a powder form, its primary ingredients are whole algal flour and algal protein and contains high levels of healthy lipids, carbohydrates, micronutrients and essential amino acids. On top of that VeganEgg is cholesterol free and a more sustainable alternative to eggs since it takes over 52 gallons of water to produce an egg, but 100 VeganEggs can be produced for the same amount.
It’s a great healthy, vegan alternative to eggs that I can’t recommend enough! Have you tried it yet or are you going to give it a go?
