Six True Origin products win Great Taste Awards
Great taste deserves recognition and six products from True Origin’s range have recently received prestigious Great Taste Awards.
The awards celebrate outstanding food and drink, with products judged on their flavour, ingredients and overall quality. For True Origin, the recognition is particularly meaningful because the winning products are made by producer partners across Africa.

Made by Sunshine Nuts in Mozambique, these cashews prove that you don’t need lots of seasoning to make a great snack.
The Great Taste judges praised their natural sweetness, creamy texture and satisfying crunch, as well as their fresh, unadulterated flavour. They’re delicious straight from the pack, but would also make a great addition to salads, baking or homemade granola.
Sunshine Nuts sweetly spiced cashew nuts
If you prefer your snacks with a little more flavour, these sweetly spiced cashews combine crunchy whole nuts with warming cinnamon and other spices.
The judges particularly enjoyed the contrast between the sweet, spiced coating and the naturally buttery flavour of the cashews. They’re an easy snack for sharing, although you may find the bowl doesn’t stay full for long.
Sunshine Nuts sweetly spiced cashew nut butter
Taking the same combination of cashews and warming spices into a spreadable format, this nut butter has a creamy texture with a subtle spiced flavour.
The judges praised the balance between the roasted cashews, sweetness, salt and spices. Try it spread on toast, stirred into porridge or simply enjoyed straight from the jar.
Black Mamba peach & ginger jam
Made by Black Mamba in Eswatini, this jam combines the sweetness of ripe peach with the gentle warmth of ginger.
The Great Taste judges described it as beautifully made, with a true peach flavour and well-balanced ginger. Enjoy it on toast, alongside pastries or as part of a cheeseboard.
Black Mamba sliced jalapeños
These vibrant sliced jalapeños bring plenty of flavour and a satisfying crunch, without the vinegar overpowering the chilli.
The judges praised their texture, balanced pickle and fresh, fruity heat. They’re a versatile addition to burgers, tacos, sandwiches and salads and the pickling liquid can even be used to add extra flavour to dressings and sauces.
True Origin grape & pear balsamic reduction
Made by Turqle Trading in South Africa, this rich balsamic reduction combines fruity flavours with a well-balanced acidity.
The judges highlighted its depth of flavour and distinct fruity finish, suggesting it would be particularly delicious drizzled over salads. It would also work beautifully with roasted vegetables, cheese or desserts.
