Used of course to replace those awful plastic lump filters. Water looks and tastes very clean. I use a little longer than the recommended usage period, and they've been fine with no drop in quality

Been using these for couple of months. Limescale in my kettle has been minimised. We live in a hard water area.

I find these easy to use, I would like to think they are improving the quality of the water, and I'm glad to have a plastic free way to filter. After use, I put my old ones in the salad drawer or a drawer of clothes to absorb smells and moisture.

I am just trying these out, as an alternative to filters that rely on plastic. So far so good

Q: How long do these last until you need to change them please?

A: hi there,

Thanks for your query. Eco living has instructions on their site that advises to replace charcoal after 2 months, I will copy below for you.

Use approx: 1 litre jug = 3 - 4 pieces; 2 litre jug = 6 - 8 pieces

1. Wash in running water to remove powder (do not use detergent).

2. Boil for 10 mins in a pan of water to sterilise & allow to cool and dry.

3. Place in a jug and fill with tap water (charcoal may float when new but it will tend to sink after a week or so of use).

4. Leave for 8 hours or more for best results. You can leave it in the fridge to chill if you like. It's then ready to drink.

5. Re-sterilise once a week by repeating step 2.

6. Replace with new charcoal after 2 months approx.

I hope this helps,
Kind regards.
