Friendly Soap Natural Shampoo Bar - Lavender & Tea Tree - 95g

My wife and I have become very concerned over the harmful chemicals found in shampoo so we switched to this shampoo soap bar and a little goes a long way. We are very happy with the product. It does the job.

I love these, my hair is manageable, healthy and I dont have to wash my hair so often

This is my second shampoo bar attempt and another fail. Their website tried to be helpful, and being in a hard water area means it will be more difficult to get good results, but doing a vinegar rinse after using the product defeats the point for me (primarily to reduce waste), and also probably isn’t good for my skin in the long-run.rnI have though now found the info that will hopefully help me find a shampoo bar that works for me! Compare the ingredients that you see here to those in the Faith in Nature version - very different! Friendly produce a soap-based bar that is high alkali and in hard water areas will leave a residue on your hair. FiN use surfactants (these sound more ‘chemical’, but isn’t any product a result of some chemical processing?) that enable them to more easily control the ph level so should feel nicer in hard water areas. There are other brands to compare, just not many stocked here, I plan to try FiN then take it from there!

I really want to like this. I like the smell, I like that it does wash my hair....well it is shampoo......but I don't like how my hair feels afterwards. It feels like it hasn't washed out and my hair feels like I've used product on it, which I haven't. I've been perservering with this and am on my second bar. I've tried using more, tried using less, but I still have the same issue.rnI'll be looking for an alternative next time.

Bought this bar as Ł8 lush ones worked wonders, but was a bit too much for me to happily spend. Although this bar smells amazing and is very environmentally friendly, it leaves my hair feeling waxy or oily. I have been told to keep using it, to let my hair get used to it, so will continue and see. It does seem like the bar will last ages however! rnto summaries - Not a very good shampoo (so far..) might just use as hand soap

I tried this shampoo as a replacement to the shampoo bars offered by lush and did not like the results. It definitely left a residue in my hair which made my hair heavy and greasy quickly after drying. I continue to use this as an initial was and then a small amount of liquid shampoo to rinse off the residue so it has reduced my carbon footprint slightly. I won't be getting anymore unfortunately.

I used this bar a couple of times after purchase. Quite astringent, strips all oils from the hair. OK if you're going to only wash your hair weekly, as I do. rnrnHowever, I made the mistake of washing my face and neck with some suds still on my hands after lathering my hair. The tea tree oil in this bar reacted really strongly with the skin around my eyes and ears, and three weeks later the burns and red patches have not gone down. I don't have particularly sensitive skin, and have never had a reaction to tea tree products before, but this bar has ingredients which are way too strong for my skin. Have thrown the bar away and will not buy stuff from this manufacturer again.

This is an extremely good product. I have very dry hair but I now do not need to condition. The soap is gentle and creates lovely creamy suds which wash out easily and do not leave the hair feeling oily or 'sticky'. It lasts well and so I get lots of hair washes out of one bar. Another benefit is that it is very affordable and you don't end up wondering what to do with the packaging as it comes in a cardboard box. No plastic to worry about!. I've recommended it to everybody I know.

I have never written a review of anything before but please don't buy this shampoo bar. I've used different ones before and this seemed like a good cheap one.... but the smell is almost clinical (which is in part down to the tea tree) but it leaves a residue on your hair so it doesn't look or feel clean. I've cut mine up to use as hand soap.

It's palm oil free and plastic free, long lasting and cheap. Great - BUT the only drawback is that it's really horrible shampoo.... I read elsewhere that you should rinse your hair with cider vinegar after using it to get rid of the greasy film it leaves on your hair. No thanks! I think I'd just rather try another shampoo bar instead. There are much better ones that ethical superstore sell. rnrnThe first time I used it my hair felt clean and nice, then the second use onwards my hair was greasier than before I used it. Unfortunately this was so disgusting I didn't repeat the experience much before replacing it......

Trying a Lush shampoo bar next.rnrnPros: rn- Lathers well, ignore the people who say it doesn'trn- No plastic, yay!rn- Lasts at least 3-4 monthsrn- Gives fine hair much better volumernrnCons:rn- Due to the castor oil in it, it leaves a residue on the hair after washing which makes it feel greasy.rn- The above means that as with any castor oil treatment, rinsing afterwards with apple cider vinegar (ACV) is totally essential to avoid too much greasy feeling.rn- The above means that using this shampoo is not cheap since ACV is quite expensive, counterbalancing the cheap cost of the shampoo bar itself. I've already been through two bottles of ACV and the bar still isn't finished, so I'm throwing the rest away because I'm not paying for another bottle of ACV just to use it.rnrnI also have a problem scalp and was using Superdrug's Trichology range before, the only thing I've found that works. This shampoo bar didn't soothe my scalp like Trichology did, and I wonder whether the ACV rinsing might have been irritating my skin.

I was excited to use this shampoo bar but I have used it a couple of times and my hair does not feel fully clean, the bars leave residual substances in your hair which feels weird. I have stayed longer under hot water with the hope that when I get out of the shower I feel the soap has really gone but it really has not worked out for me. I will keep trying other brands with similar plastic free packaging.

Lovely soap that doesn't turn to mush. I just run it directly on my hair to lather up. Great quality product that leaves my hair feeling clean. Love it!

I find these bars lather very well.I am currently going through the 'purge' transition after using conventional shampoos and my hair feels a little heavy and dry, but I am determined to stick with it! There's no turning back!

Really disappointed!!! I have medium length hair which turned to straw meaning i couldn't wash the product out properly and once dry it turned greasy. Ended up reverting back to the plastic bottle!!! Will now try a bar from Lush

I have easy to manage: straight, long, dark, oily hair. Plus I live in a hard water area. Even though I followed up with conditioner, this shampoo left my hair resembling straw, I felt like a scarecrow. I will use the rest of this bar for hand washing. Sadly I'm going back to my plastic bottled shampoo.

My husband is a huge fan of this soap. It lathers quickly and rinses well leaving his hair clean and soft. Smells nice too. We have ensuite so can often smell the fragrance in our room after and is very refreshing

Very pleased with this product. rnI’ve been meaning to avoid another plastic bottle in the bathroom for a while. rnIt feels a bit odd when you first go to wash it out and feels a bit sticky but I think that’s the conditioning element of it. rnStick with it and after a towel dry it feels great.

Left a residue in my hair despite lots of rinsing after noticing it the first time. Made my hair feel claggy and greasy. I have oily hair and normally t tree products are good. Have stopped using.

It's an okay product, I love the smell but I'm just getting used to shampoo bars and I'm finding this leaves a weird coating in my hair. I've been advised to try an apple cider vinegar rinse after and that should get rid of the coating so I'm going to stick with it.

Really really like this. I bought it for going camping, but use it practically every day. Would totally recommend this to anyone.

I really really wanted this Shampoo Bar to work but sadly it did not for my family, it did not produce enough lather for us and made our hair very dry and the worst was it pretty much stripped out all of my hair colour! So I won't be using this shampoo bar again, sorry. I have touch would found another product which you stock which does seem to be ticking all the boxes for us, so all is not lost.

First time I've tried a shampoo bar to cut down on plastic as much as anything else and I'm delighted with the quality of the product.

In a combination with the right conditionioner, and water that is soft enough, I think this is a great shampoo bar. Without conditioner, I feel that my hair is too dry and hard to control.

Like the idea of this but my hair is very thick so I found it hard to cover my whole scalp. Felt like soap on my hair and then greasy afterwards, might try again as I think it will be a good transition product ***

Found that as a hair soap it left residue so used as a hand soap. It smells gorgeous

I am using this on holiday. It produces a good lather and my hair smells lovely.

Great price item but found that it is very drying on my hair and didn't come away feeling very clean! I have quite thick oily hair and found it to leave my hair frizzy and dry. Smell is lovely and subtle, just a shame it wasn't good at cleaning my hair as the price massively undercuts the bars sold at Lush!
