While my husband and I are not vegan or vegetarian, we do try to alternate pretty much between meat days and veg days. I like the TVP because it can be soaked in a variety of stocks and so is versatile to used in stews and chillis etc

My daughter is vegan so bought it for her and we both ended up cooking various recipes with it the whole week. I am not vegan but must admit, her stew with this instead of beef was a lot tastier than my original one! It soaks up all the goodness from any sauce you put it in and tastes absolutely delicious. Got back to buy few more packs and will be using it myself regularly now!

Brilliant when simmered in stock first. Then add to any sauce. Gives chewy but still soft texture like soaked baguette. Makes a meal a lot more hearty.
