think they may have changed the smell, as though it is strong, it makes it feel/smell like its doing the job. use it to refill smaller bottles to be kept near the toilets and keep large bottle in store cupboard. much better on plastic use as less recycling needed, cheaper than getting the bottle refilled at plastic free shops.

Excellent product, really effective which other eco-friendly products aren't in my experience. I do live in a very hard water area. I don't know why the smell is a problem for some people: it's quite a strong vinegary smell but it's not as if "normal" bleach products don't smell loads worse, to me anyway. Personal thing I suppose.

This cleans the toilet really well but it smells TERRIBLE! Initially I thought my teenage sons had left damp sports kit all round the house but no, it was actually the toilet - post cleaning! It still smells vinegary and musty several hours later. I’m so relieved we bought a small bottle too (originally planned to decant) so we can return this 5L one. We’re going back to Ecover.

Bought this for use at work. Have had negative comments about the smell and effectiveness. Purchased 2 x 750ml and 1 x 5L bottles so will have to use them up and then try another product. Ecover has a much more pleasant smell, wish I had stayed with that.

Not too keen on the smell, but there are worse so maybe some scented ones would be nice but I guess keeping it bland makes it appeal to more people and it can always be scented with essential oils (if you need it like I do). It's a pretty good cleaner actually and I used it on all bathroom surfaces (which it does not say on the container you should do) and cleans away milder really well. I'm getting it again!
