Women in Science celebrates the achievements of pioneering women who have paved the way for the next generation of female engineers, biologists, mathematicians, doctors, astronauts and physicists. The book is wonderfully illustrated, highlighting the contributions of fifty notable women in the STEM fields of science, engineering, technology and mathematics, along with fascinating infrographics and an illustrated scientific glossary.
The women profiled in the book include well known figures like Marie Curie the physicist and chemist, alongside lesser known pioneers such as Katherine Johnson, the African-American mathematician who calculated the trajectory of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon.

I bought this as a gift for a neice or nephew, but once received I couldn't part with it so gifted it to my wife for xmas so we could enjoy it together & we have! It's so detailed & interesting, excellent book to own or share, if you can ;)
My husband bought me this book as a Christmas present and I absolutely love it! Each double page spread is dedicated to one female scientist who has contributed massively to their field of study. The illustrations are beautiful and it makes for light and easy reading. I myself studied Zoology and have strong views on sexual equality, so this book did not disappoint. It highlights female achievements throguh the ages, in what has been a male dominated world. Highly recommend it for young girls and teens also, as a source of inspiration and strong role models!
