I love coffee especially when it is in the mild to medium roast range like Cafe direct Kilmanjaro. Unfortunately I have had to reduce my caffeine intake and I went in search of an equivalent caffeine free medium roast quality coffee. Im delighted to have found this Equal Exchange decaffinated coffee which indeed tastes v good. I am grateful to Equal Exchange for catering for people like me.

caffeine makes me ill but i really love coffee and its been difficult to find good decaff as everyone seems to have a negative attitude to it and many sellers just don't bother with it . i am very particular about the coffee i buy, it has to be decaff, responsibly sourced and ethically sound. this coffee is decaff, organic, fairtrade and 100% arabica. it has quite a mellow flavour and is perfect for any time of the day. i buy whole beans for at home and ground for at work. i usually don't tell my friends its decaff until after they have drunk it and they say they wouldn't have noticed.

Q: The Equal Exchange packet shows a Swiss Water extraction... surely this is a water only method not the CO2 method as answered to the previous question?
A: Hi there,
Many thanks for your query. It looks like that previous answer was incorrect as Equal Exchange only use the Swiss Water Method, as per the statement on their site below:
'Instead of using solvents like methylene chloride or ethyl acetate, Equal Exchange coffee is decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process. Using only water and carbon technology to grab the caffeine not only is the process solvent free but it is way more successful at preserving the flavour and aroma of the coffee. There are also regular caffeine level audits to ensure the coffee remains 99.9% caffeine free.'
