The foaming agent is completely related to the competence of the detergent and is actually unnecessary. it's only there as users have become used to having it, and the product would work perfectly well if it weren't there at all. So less is good, although none would be better. It's an excellent product and I far prefer it to Ecover...each to their own, obviously.

We normally use Ecover, which we love, but when we came to re-order some time ago, it was out of stock so I ordered the Bio instead.rnHubby does all the washing up and cannot bear this washing up liquid. Hates the fact that the suds disappear rapidly as he normally leaves the water in the sink in order to wash coffee cups up etc a short time later and the water never feels as if it cleans properly.rnBack to Ecover for us when we have used this large container up.

I love this stuff - my hands used to get really dry and cracked with conventional washing up liquid but no so with this. It is also lovely and sudsy and a much better degreaser than other regular washing up liquids I've tried. I add essential oils to make it smell to my taste which works a treat. This washing up liquid is very cheap, particularly during offers. So I was pleased to discover it works well in relatively small amounts (1-2 tsp in a sink of water). It also rinses off easily compared to others I've tried, so it's possible to get glasses very shiny.

My favourite washing-up liquid, which I have used for years. Works well for a wide range of cleaning purposes as well as washing-up, e.g. washing hair, cleaning sticky stuff off hands, wiping surfaces, etc. Very little smell, and what there is is pleasant and natural, in stark contrast to the nauseating overpowering smell of most modern cleaning products.

The Bio D 5L is a cost effect way of using washing up liquid and avoids having to buy little individual plastic bottles! You do need to use more of it than the conventional liquids but obviously works the same way without all the nasties!

I love this washing up liquid. Recently I ran out before my order came and ended up using a 'normal' liquid that I'd been given. I couldn't believe how dry my hands became in such a short time. I wash up several times a day, without using gloves, and my hands never feel dry with bio D. It doesn't bubble up very much, but don't be put off by this as I find it still cleans well.The large tub is great value as well, and it lasts a long time. If you're not sure - get the smaller bottle first and if you like it, buy the bigger one, and fill up the smaller bottle from it and keep that on your worktop.Definitely worth a try if you get dry hands, and it's not always convenient to wear gloves.
