This whole bean has a rich and creamy body with an earthy herbal and malt dark chocolate profile and hints of grapefruit, treacle and cocoa. The unique processing method of Sumatra gives this coffee a low acidity and distinctive flavour profile which make it a wonderful traditional milk drink or filter.

Sumatra coffee is traditionally processed using a method called Giling Basah, or wet-hulling. Wet-hulling means the green coffee bean is removed from the outer, pulpy, fruit-layer as well as the parchment cover, when it’s freshly picked and still wet at about 40% moisture level.
This wet-hulling technique creates a very distinct flavour profile, tending to have soft, muted acidity. Sumatra coffees are often described as herbaceous, spicy, wild, mushroom and earthy. What is really enjoyable about coffee from Sumatra is the fuller-bodied, syrupy mouth feel. Skilful roasting develops a very sweet and lush cup.

In 2017, Jeremy and Steven received the most regal of invites to Buckingham Palace to be presented the Queen's Award for Industry: Sustainable Development by HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
