This characterful cup with caffeine removed by natural CO2 process and without chemicals, makes an indulgent, rich and flavourful coffee, full-bodied with hints of dark caramel and ginger. Made with a blend of ethically grown beans from smallholder farmers in Rwanda and Peru, it is perfect for making any coffee with a filter.

The Maraba co-operative has over 1,500 members, of which about 35% are women. Union have worked with the co-operative to fund processing facilities and to provide training in growing high-quality coffee, allowing farmers to earn more for their crop.
Chirinos is a co-operative of smallholder coffee farmers in Amazonas, North Peru. In 1968, 36 smallholder farmers joined together to form this co-operative and today they boast over 807 members, 30% of which are women, from several communities in Cajamarca region. The average coffee producer farms an area less than 5 hectares, so being part of a co-operative enables them to sell their coffee.

In 2017, Jeremy and Steven received the most regal of invites to Buckingham Palace to be presented the Queen's Award for Industry: Sustainable Development by HRH Queen Elizabeth II. The award was the result of 15 years of focus and drive to create a better way to source high-quality coffee, a proud testimony to the success of Union Direct Trade.

Union Hand-Roasted Coffee is a certified B Corporation! The health of the people and planet has always been at the forefront of their business and remains so today.

They received this certification which is testament to the commitment they made in 2001 and the work they continue to do every day.

Throughout 2020, they donated enough coffee to make over 100,000 cups to charities and key workers, mainly to the NHS, Great Ormond Street Hospital and through FareShare.
