Confiserie Riegelein has played a pioneering role in the use of fair trade cocoa since 2010. For Riegelein, sustainability is not only part of the mission statement but also a matter close to the heart of the owner family. Confiserie Riegelein won the online vote for the Fairtrade Audience Award 2016 and are commitment to Fair Trade. The long-standing partnership with Fairtrade began in 2011, when the Cadolzburg-based family business converted the hand-decorated confectionery to Fairtrade chocolate. At the start of the Fairtrade Cocoa Programme in 2014, Riegelein was one of the first contractual partners and set itself the goal of completely converting the cocoa requirements for the Riegelein brand to the Fairtrade by the start of the Christmas 2016 season.

The Christmas and Easter selections carry the Fairtrade product seal, which ensures the use of cocoa, cane sugar and vanilla as fair trade ingredients. In addition, the organic seal guarantees the origin of all ingredients from organic farming.

Their products are also regularly awarded gold and silver medals.
