These delicious cooked and Peeled Organic Chestnuts are cultivated and hand shelled in the French Ardeche chestnut groves, the most famous chestnut area in Europe. Chestnut trees require an acidic and chalk-free soil and grow best at a slight altitude, the Ardeche provides this. These hand harvested chestnuts have been cooked, peeled and are ready to eat. The sweet, nutty flavour with a delicate crunch goes well in stuffing, soups, salads, baking and puddings and is naturally gluten free. They also taste good with meats such as pork or duck.
