I've bought these sponges before and will again. Many uses and great that they're biodegradable instead of plastic.
Really puzzled by the latest review that says these fall apart I bought one pack to try at end of April 2023 Started using them for washing up immediately and I think they are brilliant they last ages I took a tip from another reviewer and cut one of the 2 large sponges in half I have been using those two half sponges since end April continuously for washing up So I use one for about a week then put it in the top of the dishwasher and then use the other one and give the other a week off so it is put away clean and dry 5 months on from purchase I have just thrown away the second of my two halves in my compost bin which goes in my garden Only throwing them away as they were now beginning to drop bits I have now cut my next one in half and am starting on that At this rate one pack will last 10 months So I just cant understand what has happened for the customer who found they started to fall apart immediately I assume an odd batch I cant think what else explains it The only other thing of relevance is to say that I use a little bit of very mild Greenscents washing up liquid and I dont use these sponges to scrub just for washing up normally and I have a scourer for scrubbing cooked on food or stubborn food debris I am ordering a new pack now so I have more in my cupboard If I experience any problems with these sponges in future I will update the review but I am very very happy with them I love the fact they just go in my compost bin under the sink I used to buy a lot of those standard supermarket sponges which fell apart in a couple of weeks and then had to go in the ordinary bin and so into land fill where they would not biodegrade If only all sponges were like these
Disappointing. These start falling to bits straight away. Even gentle washing up makes them start falling apart, which means I'm continually finding chunks of sponge on my clean dishes or stuck in the plughole. Yes, it's good that they are compostable, but I want them to break down AFTER use, not during!
I agree with the other reviewer who says you can cut these in half and still have a decent-sized sponge, which gives you 4 sponges per pack. That's good for the price, but the poor quality means I wouldn't buy these again.
