This shampoo has been amazing for me - and I've had prescription shampoos. Dandruff and scalp problems can be caused by different things. For me, I have dermatitis on my scalp and the salicylic acid is the same active ingredient that's in prescription shampoos. Other people with the more common flaky dandruff would be better with other options.
