Fair & Ethically Traded

Fair & Ethically traded products are those which support either Fairtrade®, BAFTS or WTFO directly, or suppor the principles of fair and ethical trading. Fair trade in the broad sense is a social movement and market-based approach to alleviating poverty and promoting sustainability. The movement advocates the payment of a fair price as well as social and environmental standards in areas such as the production of a wide variety of goods, the sourcing of ingredients or the welfare of workers and local people.

The Fair Trade tag also includes products which have been certified by independent organisations, including Fairtrade® labelled products certified by the Fairtrade Foundation, products sourced by or from organisations certified by the World Fair Trade Organisation, or by BAFTS.
