Fairtrade Labelled

FT LabelThe Fairtrade Mark is a consumer label which appears on products as an independent guarantee that disadvantaged producers are getting a better deal.

For a product to display the Fairtrade Mark it must meet international Fairtrade Standards, set by The Fairtrade Labelling Organisations International (FLO), for environmental, labour, and development factors.

You can be confident that in buying Fairtrade a fair price has been paid for the goods, and a premium beyond this which allows the producers to cover the cost of production and plough money back into their communities in the form of social, economic, or environmental projects.

There are currently Fairtrade Standards for 18 different product categories; from fresh and dried fruit and veg to wine and beer, tea and coffee to cocoa and cotton, nuts and sugar to name a few, with many more in development.

Ethical Superstore stock well over 500 Fairtrade Labelled products and we're adding more all the time.

Where Fairtrade Standards are not yet in place for certain product groups (often due to overwhelming applications), those with a passion for trade justice can buy fairly traded goods from members of the WFTO -World Fair Trade Organization (formerly IFAT) and the British Association for Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS).
