I've just fitted 2 of these in a wall fitting my kitchen, and it's the lightest and brightest it's been in there since I started using eco bulbs. Beautiful white light. Too soon to tell on the SAD side of things, but I'll update as the year goes on - last winter was a bad one. The bulbs are quite bulky so I've had to abandon my small lamp shades - I wasn't sure whether they would hinder the benefits though, and this way the effect will hopefully be maximised.

UPDATE - I want to update my eview to reflect my feelings now that I've been using the product for a while. The bulbs truly seem to have made such a difference to my life - as an SAD sufferer who lives in a shady dark house, I often find it difficult to motivate myself to do either housework or my garden for a considerable part of the year, but since I've been using these bulbs there's been a huge improvement. My garden has had the best overhaul it's had in years (and it's only April!), and I'm keen to make more changes. My house is in shock at having it's windows cleaned inside and out already too. I'm absolutely amazed at the difference these bulbs seem to have made, and am now gearing up for a massive turn-out of all the junk that's collected over the years. I'd love other sufferers of SAD to know that it really is worth trying these bulbs.

In a single word - BRILLIANT. This bulb is instantaneous. No warm up time and a natural daylight colour temperature. Well recommended.
