Fair Trade - BAFTS

The British Association of Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS) is an association of members first set up in 1995 to bring together a number of handicrafts’ shops that sold fair trade goods. It has expanded to include fair trade suppliers and DSRs as well as shops and is recognised by the World Fair Trade Organisation as a National Fair Trade Network.

BAFTS seeks to raise the profile of fair trade on the High Street, providing a point of contact and communication for the exchange of ideas amongst its members.

You will find here all of the products we sell from BAFTS Certified brands, in order to become a member of the association each company must meet stringent criteria which includes creating opportunities for disadvantaged producers by means of fair trade practices and accountability. This involves payment of fair wages, no child or forced labour, gender equity, lack of discrimination, good working conditions and respect for the environment.
