Bad Batch?

I bought a box of these as I love the coffee beans which I ground myself. This coffee is meant to be suitable for filter and cafetiere but I am sure this is a bad batch as the coffee is so coarsely ground. Even in a cafetiere it is very weak and I've tried two bags so far. Hope to be able to grind it down to a finer ground myself. The coffee beans are wonderful and, although they smell unlike coffee (!), once ground and made using a filter machine or cafetiere they make a truly great coffee - probably in my top three coffees of all time. A full bodied bean which is rich without being too strong. Mellow and very drinkable.
