Q: Hi my daughter is off to australia for 12 months and also travelling around asia. Would she be able to pick up any english type stations on this little chap? Many thans

A: The Cheetah should be fine around Australia but as it only has AM and FM reception coverage in Asia will be limited to any local stations which broadcast English language programmes. However an alternative would be to consider a model with Short Wave (SW) reception. Such radios are able to receive BBC World Service Broadcasts which are pretty widely available accross the globe.
An example of a compact, wind up radio with SW included is the Eton FR140. Hope this helps, John

Q: Does it run off battery?

A: The Powerplus Cheetah does not use replaceable batteries, instead it has an internal battery (300 mAH, 2.4V Ni-MH) which is recharged via the solar cell, hand cranking, or by using the mini-USB charging port. I hope this helps, Jo.
