Question asked on 17th Nov 2007
Q: Why is this radio labelled "Staff recommends"? How does it compare with the other radios that you sell eg "Best seller" Eton FR350, "New" Powerplus Rhino, Freeplay Devo DAB Radio, the one recommended by John etc? Which ones in your whole range are digital? Which ones can play and charge at the same time? A chart comparing key features of the various models would be very helpful.
A: The reason it's labelled 'staff recommends' is simply that a member of our team has felt that the balance of features and price made it worthy of additional eposure.
'Best Seller' highlights the fact that several of our customers have put faith in a particular product, 'New' allows folk to quickly identify the most recent additions to our range.
We do aspire to be as transparent as possible in all we do to allow every customer to make as informed choice as possible and we will certainly consider your constructive comments re feature comparison. Thanks, John

Question asked on 13th Nov 2007
Q: Could this radio receive BBC world service in Tanzania and other parts of the world. Thanks
A: The Eyemax is an AM/FM radio.
According to the BBC website the World Service is broadcast in Tanzania on Short Wave (SW) frequency 6190, 6005 kHz, which the Eyemax cannot receive.
HOWEVER our range of Eton radios and the highly recommended Freeplay Summit Radio should be able to do the job. John

Q: I WILL BE TRAVELLING TO ALBANIA SOON, WILL THIS RADIO RECIEVE BBC RADIO
A: This radio will pick up the BBC World Service broadcast on 103.9 FM called BBC TIRANė. It won't pick up any UK radio broadcast channels from Albania. Also be aware that Alabania is very mountaineous country and the FM broadcast originates in Tiranė it may not be available across the whole country. You can check BBC channel availability here.
For a better range of olptions I would suggest buying the Freeplay Summit which will pick up a wide range of Short Wave broadcasts including the BBC World Service.

Q: is an ac adaptor lead included(so it could be charged up overnight)?
A: I'm afraid that UK models of the eyemax do not include an ac adaptor. It does have a mini-USB socket so you can use any "mini-USB" AC adapter - many newer cellphones and digital cameras use the same adapter, so you may already have one. John

Q: My husband wants a "Baylis" wind up radio ?? Do you have one for sale ??
A: We don't offer a 'Baylis' branded radio in our range but we do stock several Freeplay models. The Freeplay company was instrumental in collaborating with Trevor Baylis in the manufacture of the wind-up radio - turning his invention into a commercial reality. John.
