great idea and made from lovely cotton. sizes come up small though - i'm a 10/12 normally, so thought the medium size would fit me, but no the elastic is unforgiving and it doesn't flatter my curves. so buy these, yes, but buy big!

I found these more of a statement than a really good knicker. I think the design is hard to wear for most body shapes and I'd agree these come up small. I particularly dislike the central seam, and prefer the People tree bikini or the newer Pants to Poverty styles.

I love these pants! I bought the 'make poverty history' band so when I saw these they were a must have. They are really comfy and look great on. Not the cheapest pants in the world but definately worth the money!

Jo asked this question on 2nd Feb 2008

Q: what are they made from, where, and where is the raw material sourced?

A: They are made from organic cotton. All of the cotton in Pants to Poverty is provided by Agrocel Pure and Fair Cotton Growers’ Association. An organisation literally nurturing the roots of the industry, they co-ordinate organic and fairtrade certified fibre cultivation with a group of cotton farmers from the Mandvi area of Kutch, Gujarat in Western India. Due to salinity of the soil, cotton is one of the only cash crops that farmers can grow here, yet for years they were unable to get a stable price for their crops keeping them trapped in the prison of poverty. Now though, with Fairtrade cotton their futures are safe!

Q: Are they 100% cotton?

A: With the exception of the elastic waistband, the pants are 100% cotton. Hope this helps.
