Energy Saving Intelli Plug DSK 105
From: OneClick POVID: 19469
"Quite simply, every home should have one" Tim Danton, PC PRO
This is an adaptor with a difference: plug your PC into the master socket and extensions into the side plugs, and when you switch off your PC, or put it in standby mode, the power will be shut down to the extensions as well.
Even better, the IntelliPlug looks for patterns of power usage rather than simply cutting off the power when it drops below a set threshold. Additionally, the Intelliplug has a basic surge protector to keep your computer safe.
Daily electrical savings including the savings from speakers, and printer equal 0.24KWh, and annually, 84KWh.
Technical Information: The Intelliplug is suitable for Macs and PCs.
Cautions: This is only a plug to be used for desk top computers, not laptops or other types of electrical devices.
Also available: Intelli-Plug (for Laptop Computers)

These plugs are great, They just work. Plug them in, plug in your primary device (PC TV
Amp) to the master socket then plug in your related device to the other sockets (eg printer speakers scanner). That's it your done every time you switch off your computer your printer and everything else
plugged into it switches off too. I worked out I will save about £11 a year on wasted standby power so in just over a year this will have paid for itself. I cant think of a good reason not to buy one, in fact I have three!

Could also use a surround sound amp for the master and use slave sockets for TV & other HiFi separates. Remember to give video recorder it's own power though.

Q: How many devices can you plug into it?
A: Three plugs can be attached. Two of these may be extensions so more than three devices may be connected so long as the maximum power does not exceed 13 amps. John.
