Q: I notice that a component has to be fitted to a live cable.
Presumably the main unit then can be sited anywhere in the house? in order that I don't have to go down to the meter to check readings!!
A: Your presumption is correct - the sensor which goes around the live cable at the meter, connects to a small wireless transmitter (included) which sends the data to the display unit which you can site (or move around with) anywhere within the property (up to approx. 30 metres from the transmitter)
Hope this helps. John.

Can this be used with a 3-phase supply?
Cheers,
