The double walled, porcelain cup comes complete with a removable silicone lid, so you can have your regular morning coffee without adding to the landfill problem.
In the USA alone there are an estimated 25 billion 'disposable' coffee cups thrown away each year. The fact that, due to health regulations, the vast majority (90%+) of the paper in these cups is brand new virgin paper does not help matters. You might think, then, that the cups themselves could be recycled, right? Wrong! During manufacturing the cups are laminated with a plastic resin (polyethylene) in order to insulate and seal the cups. This prevents recycling, and ensures that every single laminated paper cup ends up in landfill and begins to decompose. As it does, it releases methane, a greenhouse gas with 23 times the heat trapping power of carbon dioxide.
So, do your bit. Grab yourself a new mug, and make a stand against wasteful paper cups.

Q: Will the mug be hot to hold if it's full? As there's no handle.
A: It is double walled and insulated so you should experience no discomfort or excessive heat; in fact - this is one of the most popular products amongst Ethical Superstore staff so we're sure you won't be disappointed.

Q: Is the mug heavy? I use a thermal travel cup which is very light to carry in my bag.
A: The empty mug weighs approx. 450g.
It should be remembered that 'I'm Not A Paper Cup' is a porcelain mug - so is possibly not best suited as a commuting companion.

Q: What qty of coffee does this hold in relation to the well known coffee shop sizes? Does anyone know if they will just fill it for you or fill one of their paper ones first!?
A: The capacity of the cup is approximately 275ml. The 'tall' serving at a major highstreet coffee chain is 355ml. Hope this helps.
