I'm using this to feed my non-gluten ingredient sourdough starter. It's doing a great job!

I wanted to buy brown rice flakes, as an addition to my weekend buckwheat porridge breakfasts, but Ethical superstore only had these 3 packs of brown rice. I bought them , thinking I could experiment with different flours in baking, and being flour, it would save me the trouble of grinding it up. I really, really wanted to like this- I LOVE brown rice, after all, but this flour is really gritty and leaves a horrible powdery taste in the mouth. I followed a Doves farm recipe for peanut butter rice flour cookies, but the grittiness of the flour stops them being anywhere near pleasant. It needs to be milled into a smoother, finer consistency, something that I can't do, as I have a severe insensitivity to noise. It's ok in my porridge, but it's going to take an awfully long time to use up the 3 packets! Come on, Suma pre-packs, you've always produced good quality, wholefood ingredients, please mill this rice flour a bit finer.

great gluten free flour but also easy to use for anyone as can be added to soups & stews as a thickener without going into lumps as wheat flour does.

I bought this flour as a low carb alternative to wheat flour. My chapatis were dry and my two attempts making bread were completely unsuccessfl i had to throw it away as my dough did not rise. Does anyone have any recipies with this flour?

Lovely paper bags, easy to handle. This flour mixed with coconut milk and just egg (quantity of your choice) makes a great breakfast at weekends, when I do my crepes. I am not gluten intolerant but brown rice flour is delish as an alternative to wheat pastries and ligther too.

A very good, healthy alternative to wheat flour. Xantham gum and gluten free baking powder makes the product as good as the "bad" wheat flour.
