I have a number of Turtle bags, both short and long handled ones. I like the way they stretch, are machine washable and take a small amount of space when folded to pop in a pocket. rnrnAlthough I have also bought cheaper versions, they just didn’t last as well, so it is worth paying a little more to get the proper ones.

I have a few of these turtle bags and have just purchased one from this site. They are great bags, they stretch so can accommodate quite a bit of shopping the handles are soft so don't dig into hands and they fit into a hand bag so you have always got a shopping bag handy. I like that you can also stick them in washing machine. Great Buy.

About Turtle Bags
Turtle Bags was created in 2004 in response to the lack of ethically sourced reusable shopping bags. Why the name TurtleBags? One of the company’s main concerns is that once many of our country’s plastic bags are discarded, they travel along rivers and stream and end up out at sea. Turtles venturing into UK waters encounter them, and are increasingly mistaking our rubbish one of their favourite snacks, the jellyfish. We have five different species of turtle which venture into British waters, most predominantly the Leatherback turtle. These creatures have been around for 100 million years, and are certainly worth protecting.
Furthermore, these eco-friendly bags are ethically sourced from a small business in India which promises fair wages, support and healthcare to its employees, which can only be a good thing.
Countries as far-flung as Eritrea, India, Papua New Guinea and Bangladesh now have bans, fines as even prison sentences for those using plastic bags, so it’s time for us to catch up in the UK. Turtle Bags are a gentler alternative to the plastic bag hazard.
