Q: very new to all this! Can you tell me how many containers and size I would need for this patio garden?
A: Hi, I've been in touch with Rocket Gardens on your behalf and this is their estimated size guide for the Instant Patio Garden: Tomatoes – two good sized grow bags or an good sized individual container (40cm diameter) for each plant. Strawberries – two good sized grow bags or a Rocket Gardens strawberry planter. Runner beans – one large pot (approx. 60cm diameter) and construct a bamboo wigwam for the plants to climb up. Dwarf French beans – two grow bags or one / two large pots (approx. 60cm diameter) should be fine for 10 bean plants. Courgettes – one large pot (approx. 60cm diameter) per plant. Rainbow chard and spinach – one large pot will take all of these plants but if you have more space use a few more. Peas - one large or two large pots (approx. 60cm diameter) will be perfect for planting the peas. Mizuna / Rocket - any handy type of pot or container will be suitable for these salad leaves Mixed lettuce – approx. 4 grow bags or plant closely together in a few containers to pick as cut and come again salad. I hope this helps. Jo.
