Kilombero is superior and highly versatile rice from Malawi. The fair trade rice is grown by smallholder farmers who are part of NASFAM, (National Smallholder Farmers’ Association of Malawi) which is the largest independent, smallholder-owned membership organisation in Malawi. It is founded on the principles of collective action and is democratically governed by its members – 60% of whom are women. It provides training, reasonably priced farm inputs and a fair price for their products to its members.

I don't use rice very often, and found I had got used to tasteless cheap alternatives...until a friend who had been living in Malawi suggested this one. I love it - it is good quality, cooks quickly and tastes great. I decided to buy a big 3kg bag which will last me for the whole year, and will not be buying any other rice.
