The founders of HYDROPHIL are Christoph, Sebastian and Wanja, three friends from Hamburg. The idea for HYDROPHIL was born during a bicycle tour through Hamburg.

In the middle of 2012 they started a little blog on hydrophil.com, which is still dedicated to the various facets of water today. Water is the most important resource for plants, animals and humans, without it there would be no life! In their blog they deal with the most diverse aspects around it: sustainable use of water, conflicts over the resource water, tap water etc....

Since they have been dealing with the fascinating topic of water all the time anyway and wrote about it in their blog, they wanted to start a field trial and try to develop a product that consumes and pollutes as little water as possible in its production. After they had launched their first T-shirt in a trial run in September 2013 the feedback was so incredibly positive that they decided to redesign the shirt.

Their range of water neutral, vegan & fair products has grown steadily since then, now they are the market leader in sustainable dental hygiene with bamboo toothbrushes and are looking forward to working together to make tomorrow's world even more beautiful and greener.

They donate 10% of their profits to the non-profit association Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli e.V., which is committed to providing access to clean drinking water for people in countries of the global South.
