Product Description
This toothbrush has a soft feel while you brush, which is great for those with sensitive gums. This toothbrush is water neutral as well, meaning that it uses ingredients that are grown without the use of artificial irrigation; saving on water waste. The bamboo handle will biodegrade quickly over time, while the nylon bristles can be recycled. Simply remove the head from the brush for easy recycling.
Hydrophil also donates 10% of their profits to the charity Viva con Agua, that campaigns for access to clean, drinking water for everyone on the planet.

I like that this has bristles made form caster oil. Small narrow head gets into all the little corners and is very gentle on sensitive teeth.
In two minds about the bamboo handle and whether it is more eco wise to use a FSC beechwood handle which I think I would prefer.

The bamboo handle took a little getting used to as it is quite thick, and very round - the antithesis of the flat handled brushes I have been used to most of my life. That's fine now (after using it for about 1 month), but I still find the 'soft' bristles extremely firm, and have had to adjust the way I hold the brush to avoid damaging my gums, which are already receding.

About Hydrophil
The founders of HYDROPHIL are Christoph, Sebastian and Wanja, three friends from Hamburg. The idea for HYDROPHIL was born during a bicycle tour through Hamburg.
In the middle of 2012 they started a little blog on hydrophil.com, which is still dedicated to the various facets of water today. Water is the most important resource for plants, animals and humans, without it there would be no life! In their blog they deal with the most diverse aspects around it: sustainable use of water, conflicts over the resource water, tap water etc....
Since they have been dealing with the fascinating topic of water all the time anyway and wrote about it in their blog, they wanted to start a field trial and try to develop a product that consumes and pollutes as little water as possible in its production. After they had launched their first T-shirt in a trial run in September 2013 the feedback was so incredibly positive that they decided to redesign the shirt.
Their range of water neutral, vegan & fair products has grown steadily since then, now they are the market leader in sustainable dental hygiene with bamboo toothbrushes and are looking forward to working together to make tomorrow's world even more beautiful and greener.
They donate 10% of their profits to the non-profit association Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli e.V., which is committed to providing access to clean drinking water for people in countries of the global South.
