Product Description

A pack of 4 reusable general purpose cloth from E-Cloth, designed with thicker fibres in a wedge shape construction to absorb spills and remove dirt, grease and over 99% of bacteria with just water – no chemical cleaners needed. The general purpose cloths are suitable for all hard surfaces, and can be used dry for dusting, or wet for a deeper clean.

Recommended by Allergy UK. Good Housekeeping Institute approved.

32 x 32cm
80% polyester, 20% polyamide

Made in Indonesia
Packaged in a recyclable cardboard box

Usage Instructions

Wet thoroughly and wring out. Clean with the cloth damp, with just water. For heavier dirt, first use wet before finishing with a damp cloth.

It can be a good idea to fold the cloth and use it as a pad. This ensures good contact with the surface and gives a number of different cleaning sides.

Use dry for dusting. The fibres’ natural positive charge attracts dust.

TIP: For best results, finish with a dry Glass & Polishing Cloth, for a perfect streak-free finish on windows, mirrors, stainless steel and other shiny surfaces.

Care Instructions

A warm rinse is often enough in day to day use. Machine wash regularly up to 60°C, using a little detergent and rinse well. If too much detergent is used, cleaning performance may be reduced, in which case, hot wash without any detergent.

The cloth will benefit from an occasional hot wash at 90°C or sterilising by boiling in just water.

Tumble or hang dry.

DO NOT use bleach, which damages the fibres or fabric conditioner, which inhibits performance. If used by mistake, rewash with a little detergent.

Note: Colour may run. Wash new cloths separately.

We have two packs, so far they’ve lasted us for 2 years and still going strong. They are good for all kinds of household cleaning, and if not using frequently e.g. washing up, and not dried very quickly afterwards (e.g. radiator or a hot day!) they do need to be machine-washed otherwise they become smelly. They are WAY more hard wearing than cotton dishcloths, j-cloths & similar.rnOur big ‘HOWEVER’ is; they haven’t really reduced our use of cleaning products as they claim. We don’t clean with just a dry cloth and wouldn’t get very far in a busy family home if we did. Unless you’re only using them for dusting, you will need some product and the claim on the packet that you don’t is a bit misleading.

These cloths work, but how ethical are they, bearing in mind that they're not made of natural fibres but of polyester (80%) and polyamide (20%), contributing to the problem of microplastics entering rivers and oceans when they're washed? I have two of these, but will in future be buying cloths made from natural fibres instead.

Seem to work well for cleaning although they are too 'fluffy' for my liking for washing up

Q: Are these cloths machine washable?

A: E-cloth suggests machine washing these cloths at 90°C for a thorough clean, but make sure you avoid bleach or conditioner as these will damage the fibres of the cloths. Jo.
