\"Bottled-Water1\"We are always told to drink more water, for our health, for our complexion, to keep hydrated, to stay cool on a hot day \u2013 we\u2019ve heard it all before. As summer approaches, it is more and more important to ensure drink enough, and one of the best ways to do that is carry a bottle of water wherever you go. <\/p>\n

For the sake of the environment we should not be buying those plastic bottles of water that are so readily available, plastic that is so often thrown away after its one use and will likely end up on a landfill site where it will remain for hundreds of years, giving off harmful gases as it finally degrades. It is true that these bottles can be put in your local recycling bin, but that only works as an argument for plastic if every single person who buys them recycles. These plastic bottles also tend to contain BPA which some say can be potentially harmful.<\/p>\n

Some estimates say that it can take up to 3 litres of water to make a 1 litre bottle of water, and then it needs to be transported and kept cold \u2013 adding to the use of fossil fuels for energy, further harming the planet. And it\u2019s not like bottled water is any healthier than tap water, in fact our tap water goes through daily vigorous checks to remove anything that is considered harmful to us, it is simply the taste that may differ slightly giving the illusion that bottled water is healthier.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re not keen on the taste of tap water try using a reusable water bottle that filters as you drink, such as the Bobble Bottle<\/a> which now comes in a variety of styles \u2013 including an infuser<\/a> so you can use your favourite fruit to flavour the water without using sugary juice! The Fill & Go<\/a> from Brita is also a great choice from a well known and respected brand. These bottles filter the chlorine out of tap water to give it a great fresh taste. These reusable bottles are much better for the environment because they reduce the amount of plastic waste that goes to landfill from bottled water.<\/p>\n
