We knew our customers were perhaps a bit more likely to give a little bit to charity than your average supermarket shopper, afterall they chose Ethical Superstore over generic supermarket megastore (I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll know the places I mean!) so they must care at least just a little bit. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ethicalsuperstore.com\/your-donations\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" alt=\"Charity donations\" src=\"http:\/\/images.ethicalsuperstore.com\/blog\/donations-panel-fb.jpg\" width=\"308\" height=\"262\" \/><\/a>But we didn\u2019t know just how generous our customers would be, last year a massive <strong>\u00a321,960<\/strong> (and 41 pence!) was raised through the checkout donations! We don\u2019t want to take credit for this as it is down to the generosity of you, our customers so a big thank you from us and a big thank you from the charities who have benefited from this.<\/p>\n<p>Last year money was raised for the Philippines Appeal (<a title=\"Disasters Emergency Committee\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dec.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">DEC<\/a>), Syria Appeal (<a title=\"Disasters Emergency Committee \" href=\"http:\/\/www.dec.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\">DEC<\/a>), <a title=\"RSPCA\" href=\"http:\/\/www.rspca.org.uk\/home\" target=\"_blank\">RSPCA<\/a>, <a title=\"Friends of the Earth\" href=\"http:\/\/www.foe.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Friends of the Earth<\/a>, <a title=\"Trees for Life\" href=\"http:\/\/www.treesforlife.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Trees for Life<\/a>, <a title=\"Medecins sans frontieres\" href=\"http:\/\/www.msf.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Medecins sans Frontieres<\/a>, <a title=\"Shared Interest Foundation\" href=\"http:\/\/www.shared-interest.com\/foundation\/about-the-foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\">Shared Interest Foundation<\/a>, <a title=\"Vegetarian Society\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vegsoc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vegetarian Society<\/a> and <a title=\"Amnesty International\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amnesty.org.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Amnesty International<\/a>.<br \/>\nWe had a particularly good response to the Philippines appeal with you raising a fantastic \u00a37286.
