great idea and made from lovely cotton. sizes come up small though - i'm a 10/12 normally, so thought the medium size would fit me, but no the elastic is unforgiving and it doesn't flatter my curves. so buy these, yes, but buy big!

Fashion statement

I found these more of a statement than a really good knicker. I think the design is hard to wear for most body shapes and I'd agree these come up small. I particularly dislike the central seam, and prefer the People tree bikini or the newer Pants to Poverty styles.

I love these pants! I bought the 'make poverty history' band so when I saw these they were a must have. They are really comfy and look great on. Not the cheapest pants in the world but definately worth the money!

Lovely soft cotton. I like the elasticasted band with wording on. Unlike the other reviews, I think the sizing is correct. A medium is a size 10-12.

Comfy & Soft

I bought a couple of pairs of these a while back, and have worn them loads. Although they are quite expensive, I think they wash and wear well, and are well made. I find them a nice fit, and very soft.Mine show little signs of wear, but when they do I will be buying some more.

Q: what are they made from, where, and where is the raw material sourced?

A: They are made from organic cotton. All of the cotton in Pants to Poverty is provided by Agrocel Pure and Fair Cotton Growers’ Association. An organisation literally nurturing the roots of the industry, they co-ordinate organic and fairtrade certified fibre cultivation with a group of cotton farmers from the Mandvi area of Kutch, Gujarat in Western India. Due to salinity of the soil, cotton is one of the only cash crops that farmers can grow here, yet for years they were unable to get a stable price for their crops keeping them trapped in the prison of poverty. Now though, with Fairtrade cotton their futures are safe!

Q: If these underpants are suppose to be 'fair trade', why are they £8? (if you exclude the £1 which is donated to the pants to poverty cause). who is trading fairly here? We all know £8 is worth a lot in places like India.

A: You can find all of the information relating to the Pants to Poverty project on their website: http://pantstopoverty.org/. Hope this helps. Thomas
