This is just an excellent little device that just works. Connected to your desktop PC, and it turns off all the other stuff you also have connected to it – and do not need – when the PC shuts down or are in stand-by mode. Like monitor(s), speakers, printer and network router. No more speaker hum, standby blinking lights or people hacking your wireless network. And only one click – the power button on your PC – to turn everything on again. Highly recommended!

The hardest task in my house is getting the kids to turn things off. From room to room around the house I find myself turning off lights, computers and other gadgets. The Intelliplug at least helps minimize that for the computers we have. Simply plug the main power feed into the socket and then attach peripherals to the other sockets. Then whenever the computer is turned off the printer and monitor are turned off too. Genius.

**Tip** Using the Windows power saving features configure the PC to automatically turn itself off after 30mins of inactivity. Then the computer will go off once the kids leave the room courtesy of Microsoft, and then 5 seconds later the screen and printer are turned off courtesy of the Intelliplug. Double genius.

Q: Will this work for a TV? I.e. can I make a TV the main device, and then when the TV is on standby, it will switch off the video / DVD / etc?

A: We don't recommend that this is used with televisions. For that purpose, we recommend the Intellipanel for Televisions: (http://www.ethicalsuperstore.com/products/oneclick/intellipanel-for-televisions/).

Q: my intelliplug works well in turning off peripherals. But even when everything is turned off there is still 11w per hour being used. How is this? Does the transformer in the computer override the intelliplug?

A: The intelliplug has a lowest standby power of 0.4 of a watt saving an average 35 watts per hour depending on the number of connected peripherals.
