Good product that I would recommend to others

The only soap we use in the shower.

Love this soap and have used it for years. It's so pure and gentle - just two simple ingredients. I personally love the earthy natural smell. It lathers up really well and actually cleans your skin properly (unlike cheap and nasty bottled shower gel which doesn't)

Nice everyday soap with no plastic packaging

Its simple. Not much lather and no nice fancy smell, but its reasonably priced and natural, so I will keep buying

Really bad, gets all stringy and soggy. Large chunks slide off and clogged the sink. Would not recommend or buy again.

It must be over 10 years now since I started to buy this, on and off. I kept meaning to buy it again and now I have found it here, I will keep doing so. It smells a bit strange I suppose but I love that it's natural, with recyclable packaging. There's no nasties in it, no palm oil and it is good for my skin. I love the shampoo idea someone posted, so I'll be trying that out! I'll buy the bigger bar next as wasn't in stock at the time. I've stepped away from shower gels and packaging as ES has so many better alternatives!

I have used this soap for many years and loved it but I'm not sure if the recipe for has changed because the latest batch I have bought gets very soggy very quickly even though it is not in constant wet , sits on a coconut mat and is able to drain well.rnDisappointed.

So cheap, yet so good; only a few ingredients, and NO palm oil :)

This soap is great if you have very sensitive skin. I like that it has no perfume. And it is amazing at dissolving things that other cleaning products can't touch. I am a woodworker and I use it to clean oil finishes off my hands and brushes (which you'd normally need to use white spirit for) and even acrylic artist paints.

Have been using for years and keep on returning to this excellent product. Any pieces left over get put into a jar to make a soft soap wash to discourage insect infestations on plants (lilies) in the fron garden.

Terrific natural product.

Great soap! All natural, a bar goes a long way, no werid chemicals or perfumes so perfect for my allergy-prone skins. Also, a large bar means less packaging!

A really good simple soap for everyday use.

Soap good but creates no lather or suds.

As with everything I purchase from Ethical Superstore the items are used daily and the cleaning materials work well and cause no harm to both your skin or your clothes.

I mainly use this soap as shampoo- I grate up 100gm or so of it, then add 500 ml boiling water, stir well, then when cooled, pour it into a plastic water bottle. It is the only shampoo I can tolerate, and it leaves my long hair shiny, soft and clean, even though I only wash it once a week. The only drawback is , it does resemble slug slime! Any left over grated soap is good for hand washing. When my sister in Greece first used this, she found her (shorter) hair went greasy for the first two washes, but after that, it adjusted, and now she uses it all the time too. Don't get any in your eyes, it stings like hell! I always rinse it well, with a final rinse with cider vinegar.

Smells bad and leaves skin feeling greasy but at least it was cheap.

Great for sensitive skin.

A excellent all round soap without the nasty bits.

This is nice soap, and certainly does the job, but I do find that towards the end of the bar it gets very soft indeed, and tends to spread out all over the soap dish in my shower. I like it enough to go on using it however, as it leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed.

soft feel when washing, but would like some fragrance in it.

We like the purity of this product Hopefully it will help with the skin irritation we were experiencing.

Fantastic mild soap, leaves skin lovely and soft.
Verified product owner
A very simple, natural soap with minimal and recycleable packaging.
Verified product owner
was hoping for a stronger fragrance but good natural soap

Nice product. Very neutral.

Very good value. I always use this soap as I have psoriasis and find some other soaps too drying and heavily scented.
Verified product owner
Very good. Does not irritate skin. Non-scented. Does not produce much lather though which is good for kids

I prefer to use this soap because it does not contain any unpleasant chemicals nor have any forests been cleared to provide palm oil for it. I trust that there are no unpleasant processes involved.

My partner uses this for shaving and prefers it to anything else he has tried.

This delivery was for my sister in law to Elmthorpe Road, Oxford. My last comments were about my delivery made to Halley Court this week.

This is the only soap I have ever been able to use, it leaves my skin feeling beautifully soft - and I have hyperallergenic skin, I am SO glad I found it!

best natural soap we have used yet

Ideal for anyone with skin problems.
Its a great soap made the way soaps use to be. My skin reacts to most artificial chemicals etc found in many products. It is refreshing to have a soap that does none of those nasty things! I don't find it drying either!
We all use this daily, the bars last well, have little smell, clean well and have caused no irritation to any of us. A good straightforward product.

Having tried lots of natural soaps, this is by far the kindest to skin. My husband, who is very prone to dry skin, also uses it for shaving and has found it much nicer than traditional shaving soaps. It is certainly not the most attractive soap though, and after a while it does tend to get in a bit of a mess - so I would definitely reccommend a soap dish!

As a vegan with madly sensitive skin, who's been known to get a nasty case of dermatitis from an allegedly gentle shampoo and finds most "simple" or "baby" products too harsh, I have a great deal of trouble finding toiletries that a) are not tested on animals and do not have animal ingredients b) don't have a strong smell (I mostly dislike them), c) don't bring me out in a rash. Oliva does all three, and it's relatively cheap for "natural" product ranges (which are often horribly expensive). Olive oil is excellent for both dry and oily skin, and is agreed to be one of the best bases for soaps. This soap does not contain glycerine, which personally I prefer as glycerine feels nice to the touch but actually tends to have a drying effect. The odour is neutral and very low, and you get a mild creamy lather rather than lots of bubbles. The colour is a rather unattractive olive green, but hey, I'd far rather have a soap that suits my skin than a soap that matches my bathroom tiles.rnrnIncidentally, I never did find a cleanser or moisturiser that I really liked, so I wash my face with the Oil Cleansing Method using a mix of olive and hempseed oil, and moisturise with solid coconut oil with a dash of cocoa butter. Olive oil really is great stuff.
Not much foam, and a slightly odd smell and colour, but a good staple soap for the price. Works fine for shaving also.
A trick I picked up on the road was to buy several at once, and let them get as old as possible before you use them. 1 year or more is best. That way they get harder, and lasts longer. Especially for soaps you use for washing your hands, and they never get the chance to dry properly, this works well.
