Q: Can you tell me whether, if you use the Bye Bye Standby Energy Saving Kit with a VCR or DVD recorder or player, the clock on the player will need resetting when it is switched back on?
A: If your VCR and DVD recorder need their clock resetting if you switch them off at the mains, then the Bye Bye Standby will have the same effect.

Q: I think our sky digi box stays on standby all the time and there's no facility to turn it off standby, other than turning it off at the plug. this would be ideal, but would it wipe all our settings etc if it went off completely?
A: Using this product would have the same effect as turning it off at the plug, so I'd suggest before buying you try turning it off at the plug and seeing what impact this has on your settings. John.

Q: When enlarging the picture of this product. The sockets clearly have a mark saying they are rated at 4amps. Yet the accompanying info on this products says it's can be used with PC, DVD, etc which are all rated at 13amps. Am I getting confused?
A: The maximum current per receiver is 4 amps (1000 watts) which ought to be ample to accomodate any standard household appliance (this excludes high consumption devices such as the kettle). Although the majority of UK plug sockets are capable of giving 13 amps of power it is unlikely that any television/PC etc would require this. I hope this helps!

Q: Does the remote control have to be able to 'see' the plug unit or will it work even with a desk in the way?
A: The remote control can detect devices within a 30m range and should even be able to control them through walls; therefore there is no need for it to be able to ‘see’ the devices.

Q: I use an efergy to track my power consumption, it shows this product as having a 2 to 3 watt power consumption is this correct?
A: According to the manufacturers :- There is negligible energy draw on the Bye Bye Standby socket. However as the Bye Bye Standby socket consumes a minimal amount of energy continuously it is recommended that it be used in conjunction with a 4-way or 6-way extension plug to control up to 6 appliances. Bearing in mind 71% of the UK population leave appliances in standby mode anyway*, Bye Bye Standby is likely to have a positive effect in reducing carbon emissions. The standby power consumption of our products is the lowest in the market so far.
