I'm not a paper cup but I am a super product!

Verified product owner I have searched everywhere locally (I live in the Potteries) and internet etc and this is the only pottery/porcelain cup I can source for use at work, as we have to have lids due to computer use. I hate drinking from metal/plastic cups which are the only other varietys available. This washes great, keeps drinks warm and is good to use. The only critisicm I have is that the lid split after about 4 months and it would be good just to be able to get replacement lids. Good purchase though.

how many disposable coffee cups go into landfill?
Rated 4 out of 5 Submitted by

Imagine how many take away coffees are sold in a day in the UK or the world, then imagine all of the cups in landfill!
This is a great alternative which will save waste and even save you money - one particular coffee store will actually knock 25p off your coffee if you use your own cup.
The body is ceramic so it keeps your drink warm and doesn't need a cardboard cuff to stop your hand burning; the lid is made from some kind of flexible rubbery substance.
I guess my only criticism is the lid gets a little bit stained after a lot of coffees. But that's no reason not to buy it!

Q: What qty of coffee does this hold in relation to the well known coffee shop sizes? Does anyone know if they will just fill it for you or fill one of their paper ones first!?
A: The capacity of the cup is approximately 275ml. The 'tall' serving at a major highstreet coffee chain is 355ml. Hope this helps.

Q: Is the mug heavy? I use a thermal travel cup which is very light to carry in my bag.
A: The empty mug weighs approx. 450g.
It should be remembered that 'I'm Not A Paper Cup' is a porcelain mug - so is possibly not best suited as a commuting companion.

Q: Hi. Is this cup breakable?
A: As it is made of porcelain (albeit thick porcelain), we would not recommend dropping the mug, as it would probably become less able to hold your coffee. For reference, however, it is about as solid as a regular coffee mug, so you shouldn't have too much to worry about. Hope this helps.

Q: Will the mug be hot to hold if it's full? As there's no handle.
A: It is double walled and insulated so you should experience no discomfort or excessive heat; in fact - this is one of the most popular products amongst Ethical Superstore staff so we're sure you won't be disappointed.

Q: Please can you clarify in what way this is eco-friendly?
A: 'I Am Not A Paper Cup' is primarily designed as a conversation piece which provides a very visual challenge to the problems associated with disposable culture - specifically laminated paper cups. It is of course re-usable, and as it is double-walled / insulated it keeps hot drinks warmer for longer thus has the potential to cut down trips to energy hungry kettles. John.
