Q: Hi can you tell me what process is used to decaffeinate this Cliper organic tea. I am looking for decaf tea bags that don't use chemicals to extract the caffeine (I believe this is called the swiss water method).rnMany thanks, x
A: Clipper uses a decaffeination process that uses no chemicals. Its process uses supercritical Carbon Dioxide (CO2) - the same natural gas used to add bubbles to mineral water, but pressurised. Not all teas are decaffeinated using natural techniques some decaffeinated teas use chemicals to extract the caffeine. The amount of caffeine in decaffeinated tea is less than 0.2%, compared to around 4% in conventional tea.
Hope this helps
