I bought this kettle because my son's girlfriend always completely filled the kettle before boiling the water. I have found two serious problems with it. If you are making more than one drink and put the kettle down between pouring one cup and the next, water will frequently splash back up and out of the spout. Since this is water just off the boil this is quite a hazard. Also in this situation hot water flows back into the handle making it then painfully hot. Since I now live on my own, this is not usually a problem as I am only making one cup. If I have visitors I would not allow them to use this kettle as they are unfamiliar with it and could be hurt. Also as mentioned in other reviews I have read, the measure is very small in terms of 'cup' size - I always use 2 cups for 1 drink. I would not recommend it. Just get used to only boiling what you need in your existing kettle. More of a 'feel good' gimmick than a useful item.
