In addition to saving lots of money and being ecologically and ethically sound, the Mooncup means I can usually make it through the night; I don't have to sneak a tampon into the loos when away from home; and my period pains are significantly reduced.

I wouldn't recommend this for women who are "icky" types, but for everyone else I'd recommend it wholeheartedly, and have been using mine, without the need to replace it yet, for over three years. For the benefit of new users, it's worth noting that most people cut the tail bit off completely - you can still remove the cup because it has ridges for a good grip.

Firstly I would like to say that I try very hard to be as eco-careful as possible - there are easy changes which make a difference without compromise. However, this is not one of them, in my opinion.rnrnI don't think the balls get clothes clean in the same way as detergent, but my main complaint is definitely the smell. Most reviewers have mentioned this, but have suggested that it builds up after time. In my experience, the washing fails to smell fresh and clean even after just one wash without detergent and fabric conditioner. I am happy to use the less damaging types of detergent, such as Ecover. My Ecoballs have been consigned to the back of a shelf in the utility room.
