I haven't found these to be particularly effective and only use them if the washload isn't very dirty...rarely applies when you have a 2 year old ;)
I personally don't rate their cleaning power, they don't do a great deal to remove stains of any kind and seem to leave the washing smelling almost "musty" afterwards, so I only use them when it's warm enough to dry the laundry in the garden, to get that "fresh" smell.
Sorry but not impressed.
