Product Description
The Vektra kettle is a smart eco-friendly electric kettle that incorporates vacuum flask technology to boil water efficiently then keep it hot for up to four hours. This means you don’t continuously re-boil, saving money, time and energy.
Water stays hot enough for tea for up to two hours, at around 80°C and hot enough for coffee for up to four hours after boiling, at around 68°C.
The kettle’s sides remain cool, even when the kettle is boiling. It has a lever controlled anti-spill stopper, non-drip pouring spout, and a secure, comfortable handle for safe, easy use in the busiest of homes and offices.
The Vektra Kettle has 18/8 grade stainless steel inside and out, the only plastics used on the product are the trim and handle. The kettle is free from banned substances while also being CE certified for safety.

Hmm, sadly I cannot recommend this kettle or the company, Vektra. We have had a bad experience with the company (Vektra, not Ethical Superstore) and when you dig a bit more deeply and look at who owns the company, they don't appear to give a fig about eco/environmental issues: I'd say it's mainly greenwashing. The kettle has rubber stoppers that sit underneath the lid (probably acting to help with the insulation), and one of ours was loose from the outset (sitting inside the kettle), which we didn't spot until we emptied the water out one day and it went down the sink. It's a small rubber stopper, eminently replaceable, and so we contacted Vektra directly, asking if they would send one out (heck, we'd have happily paid for the postage). They suggested that we junk the kettle as faulty and didn't engage with the idea of sending out a replacement stopper. When I wrote back to say, 'That seems like a really wasteful idea that doesn't seem to be in line with the environmental marketing of your product and company', they ignored my email entirely. This is seriously poor customer service. The kettle, meanwhile, is ok – works, but no great shakes, and I don't think it achieves the level of insulation they suggest (the missing stopper may be a part of this, but who knows).
We have had ours for four years it’s still going strong and has saved countless re boils!!! All kettle manufacturers would benefit, as would the planet, by developing similar designs.

Had this kettle for a couple of weeks now and while I find it ok to live with it's not without it's faults.rn1: It's slow to boil and once it's boiled there is a quite a delay before you are able switch it on again.rn2: Pouring rate with the lid on is very restricted and find that I remove the lid more often than not.rn3: Most of the heat appears to be lost at the bottom section of the kettle as if there is little or no insulation in this section.rnrnTo be honest, I expected more for the price.
