Our sultanas and raisins come from the Orange River region of South Africa. The area is isolated and dry, as it is near the Kalahari Desert. Many crops are unprofitable, but farmers can get a decent income from growing grapes and drying them. The problem for small farmers is that it takes three years before the first crop and they need training and financial help to get started. SAD Vine Fruit (PTY) Ltd is helping these farmers to overcome their problems and market their products. Traidcraft's sales of raisins and sultanas mean one group of farmers has the chance of a better future.

Q: Do the dried fruits have sulphur dioxide, as they do in the other Traid craft muesli?
Could you please clearly label sulphur dioxide-containing products as this is an unnecessary E number which does cause problems for many people.
